How to Learn, How to Teach English

Practice Speaking (Introduction)

Practice speaking with your friends!

You want to speak English better, but you have a problem. In your country, you have to work really hard to find a native speaker to practice with. Sometimes it’s impossible.

But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t practice speaking. OK. You don’t have an English friend. You can still practice with your friends.

Sometimes, though, you feel strange when you just start trying to speak English with your friends. We understand and think that if you have a plan, then you can speak English easier.

So, here are some plans.

Stuart Mill English will give you one-hour speaking activities you can do with your friends.

(Teachers: You can use these as homework, or, if you teach private lessons, you can use these for those.)

Here are explanations of the parts of the plans.

Topic: For example “Friends”. This will give you a general idea of what you’ll talk about.

Lesson Objectives: At the end, you should be able to do these things.

Materials: Get these things before you start.

Grammar: You don’t need to, but you can study these grammar items before or after you practice speaking. You’ll be able to use these grammar items in the lesson.

Expressions: You can listen to these expressions. Then, you can use these expressions in your conversation.

Vocabulary: You can use these words in your conversation.

Plan: Then just follow the steps of the plan and enjoy your English conversation.
